 The fine print:

• All entries must be post marked on or before 2/15/2015

• All entries must be received by 2/21/2015

• Drawing will be on or about 2/28/2015 (estimated date)

• Vehicle will be delivered to the buyer within 30 days of purchase. If buyer is outside of the lower 48 United States, buyer is responsible for shipping from a US Port.

Volvo for $1 raffle details

The purpose of the raffle is to give someone in need the opportunity to purchase a 1998 Volvo V70 XC for $1. The vehicle will be repaired to the best of my (Robert Spinner) ability, and will be believed to be in good mechanical condition.

The purchaser of the vehicle is encouraged to act with due diligence in the purchase of the car, as if they were purchasing a car from a stranger from the internet. There will be no warranty, implied or given to the purchaser of this vehicle.

The car is a 1998-1/2 Volvo V70 AWD. It currently does start but is NOT in running condition. Robert plans to repair the car to be in drivable condition. The progress of the worked to be completed to “repair” the vehicle and be followed on YouTube, under the play list on Robert DIY’s channel, titled “1998 Volvo V70 $1 giveaway”.

To date the following repairs are planned:

• Repair or replace the motor (it has a blown head gasket).

• Replace control arms.

• Install new timing belt parts.

• Install new PCV system parts.

• Install new tires.

• Detail the interior. 

• Replace the audio system with an OEM head unit, AM/FM/Cassette/CD.

• The AWD system has been disabled. It has no AWD shaft and the angle gearbox is defective.

• Keylock has been disabled (the key was getting stuck in the ignition).

• Battery will be installed.

• Full tune up (new spark plugs, wires, distributor, etc.).

I have no idea how many entries will be submitted. As soon as all of the entry envelopes are opened, and the small squares are separated into a box, a child will be randomly selected to perform the drawing.

The vehicle will be delivered to the buyer as soon as possible. The plan is to deliver the car within 30 days from the drawing.

If the purchaser of the car is located outside of the lower 48 United States, they will have the option to have the car shipped to them from a US port, at the buyer’s expense, or have the vehicle sold to obtain the funds from the car sale.
